Philadelphia Stories is a
non-profit literary magazine and companion website that includes writing
and art from the PA-DE-NJ area and is provided to the general public free
of charge. We are a 501c3. Every contribution you make is tax deductible.
We have no salaried employees; our work is completely voluntary. Business
sponsorship pays for only half of the printing costs. The rest of our operating
expenses come solely from members and fundraisers. Please

Thanks for coming to the big party
Our cookout at the American Swedish Historical
Museum in South Philadelphia was fun. Thanks again to
Beretta 76, The Tights, and Coldpheet. We had a few big
ticket items for a live auction, but mainly this was a
good old fashioned neighborhood barbecue!
We are proud to announce the Philadelphia Stories Essay Contest 2008,
sponsored by Kelly Simmons. The focus on this first contest will be first-person
essays that feature women triumphing over domestic violence or mental illness.
We are excited about this opportunity, since the funds go to two good causes.
